I mean a DP FADC is just a dragon punch, that's cancelled by a focus, that's cancelled by a dash.
So the "focus" part of it is just a device to cancel the DP.
So I don't see the point in using red focus because it's two extra super bars (4 in total - 2 for the red focus and 2 for the dash cancel).

What am I misunderstanding?
I stand corrected Mark. I'm watching the Loctest from Dreamhack right now. And it seems that you CAN in fact RFADC!

It looks like a regular FADC. But instead of flashing Gold, it flashes Red.

It does spend four bars all at once. Not 2 and 2 like I had thought.

I'm not sure what the benefit of this move is, as it spends a FULL stock of meter!

So much new stuff to learn

Weird. Because, as I said, an FADC is essentially just a long winded cancel, right?

Whether you use red focus or normal focus would make no difference to the execution and the damage. They would serve the same purpose wouldn't they?

The only thing that I can think is that Red Focus can cancel moves that were previously uncancellable with regular Focus.

So, for instance, you could cancel Oni's HP DP on the third hit.

Or.....imagine you could use 4 super bars to cancel an Ultra. Imagine this scenario. Ryu starts his ultra. His opponent is clearly going to jump over it. He cancels his Ultra to avoid the punish. Would definitely be worth 4 super bars at top level I suspect.......

Hmmmmm....

Did you see them cancel anything odd?

No, it was all basic stuff. They only used it the same way regular FADC. (Ryu uppercut for example)

No, no, no! Ha, I wish.

Joppula and Vince play at a very high level.

I just do my best to try to understand the game!

You?

Mark shouldn't be so modest. From what I've seen he plays a very solid Akuma.

John (Vince-Vell) has competed in EVO, and advanced through pools. So he gets a big nod from me. And he mains Rose, and that's unique

Me, I do my best to stay competitive. But if the leader boards get reset for Ultra, I might go after #1 Chun this time. I may still be top 20. Idk.

Do you play Hercules?

I used to be very strong with Balrog and won a few local level tournaments..I had to stop competing though as I could not handle losing very well and got into real fights with the competitors

I am an absolute fighting sports aficionado and actually derive as much pleasure watching highly skilled SF matches as from attending UFC MMA, Boxing and Kickboxing events

PR Balrog is currently my favorite competitor..The guy is an evil genius with Balrog and one of the few US Caucasian players with the skill to compete with the Asian gods of SF

Do you have any youtube links to your (and John's) SF matches?

It beats me how you even get your fingers to move fast enough to do these Focus dash thingy me bobs.

Its changed days from when you used to abuse people for using the throw down the arcades I tell you.
