I had the same issues with these statues (actually I scored cheap versions of these on eBay specifically because they were damaged - think I paid around $70 for the Angelus and $50 for the Fathom). I used good old Elmer's glue. Worked great - dries clear.
That said, while it worked for me someone with more expertise might want to weigh in on this.
