Still though it would involve recasting the Main original cast, that might get dicey with fans.

It would be nice to have movies between RotJ and TFA.

I think certainly a consensus can be made that the OT are truly epic, classic films that set the standard and invented the term "blockbuster". Anything else, after this, will always come up short.
One could make the argument that the Star Wars brand is primarily aimed at boys and young adult men. Hence, why the OT is more grounded and even darker with Empire.
I know Hasbro got a lot of heat during the release of TFA because of the lack of Rey toys and figures offered on the shelves.
Heck, look at how the figures were even sculpted back in the late 90s. Luke had a buff chest and muscles?!
The point being, Disney is trying to redefine the SW brand with a leading female character, so I can see why more women would gravitate and like TFA or TLJ for its lighter tone and humor.
It's a smart business move to appeal to all genders compared to where Lucas started back in the 70's.

Excellent observations.

Maybe Ep 9 will start with Luke in a shower and Last Jedi was all just a dream. That's a Dallas reference for those that may not know.
JJ will continue where Ep7 left off and we can get a real Luke this time.
I wish.

The guy has the briefest of momentary weakness and it's somehow justification for the OT purists to spawn a million internet memes. Why not just announce OT Luke Skywalker as your lord and savior and start a new religion? At least you can be tax exempt when you start your new church and all your sheep can help you get rich when they begin donating.
