Yeah, it's the paint that's throwing it way off I think. I'm not sure HCG actually look at things before they tease them of late.

This photo was from the exhibit. The mold was made by Giger and the color of the model at the exhibit was Giger's choice. He stated this color is what he envisioned for the piece originally and went with it for display. So I believe the piece was trying to stay true to the exhibit piece.

That piece doesn't look too bad it's a shame hcg's doesn't look anything like it!
unfortunately the hcg version is like a poor attempt to replicate that paint app. The shaded lines are nowhere near fine enough

Hmm. I would be able to fix the paint app...but I don't know. I have the mindset that if I buy HCG's bad products, I am not motivating them to do better work...

On the other hand, I don't know if it's right to call them bad products. Their products are what they are. I just don't feel comfortable dropping 500 bones, for example, on a Aliens APC that is basically worth $100 or $200 tops...I don't need it bad enough to reward them such high profit for bowing out of a more complex design worthy of $500.

I feel like they stop short of doing better to max out profit while others are giving so much more for comparable pricing.

Oh well, I think I'll have to pass on this, too.
