My only gripe with this piece is the hand coming up through the ground. Kinda looks out of place.

The base thats on SS site for sale is the first base I painted. But WB told Jerry it had to much orange so I painted a clear base with clear reds.

Thanks for the post Mike, you've done well. What a difference! The new base really compliments the piece well, and more importantly gives it the right balance. I found the "old base" detracted from the statue just a little too much making the piece overall seem just a little "too busy". Your new paint app however adds more of a realism element (Mortal Kombat has always been dark/gorey/visually "lifelike"), and I love the new paint (the "clear" effect is awesome!) it makes me actually want the base. The Scorpion pose and sculpt itself is awesome, but that one simple move has made this statue perfect in my eyes.

When I first read your post I thought "wow, that's a weird gripe." Then I looked again at the pics and thought "what the hell is that hand doing there?!?"

Yeah, kinda strange huh!

I couldnt think of it at the time, but maybe overkill might be a better way to put it. If I get it, im gonna take the hand off.

Guys, has anyone of you played the new videogame. The base is taken right out of a specific stage of the game. Actually it is an excellent representation of Scorpion's stage in the Netherealm. In fact when you play the story mode, one of the times you fight in this stage, if you get near these hands sticking out of lava (they are all around the stage) they grab you and you are defenseless for a sec to the attacks of the opponent. You should play the new game, in case you haven't. The story is fantastic.
Everything in this statue (regular version) is spot on, from Scorpion, to the base, and to the pose. Right out of the game. Amazing. Jerry my congrats, man.
