I would say his right arm which appears to be straight down is balanced on a spire or structure. It would be interesting to see what this is made out of.

That's the point!

It looks like Sideshow is continuing with the middle action pose for their statues, which is very dinamyc.

Yeah I loved John's Spidey it was super dynamic but for me it was let down by the simplistic base.
