I heard about a KONG: KING OF SKULL ISLAND movie a while ago shortly after the book came out. I think back then there was talk of it being computer animated.

its a reboot? so it will be KK all over again?or a different re-imagined version? hopefully it will be a prequel. a film about the people of skull island and the Kong tribe of giant Gorillas and their battles with the other monsters on the island. and how they conquer them and rule them. now that would be pretty sick. i can envision it in my mind.
either way im sure it will be cool. love Kong.
but in that article at the end they talk about Kong Vs Godzilla. that wont ever happen Godzilla is 350 feet tall when Kong is only 30. huge difference in size there. um yeah G would stomp his ass.

Reading a description of the voiceover that was attached to the teaser I would surmise that this is a prequel in which the humans go to skull island to locate the rumoured Kong.
The Jackson version is still fairly recent so I don't foresee this being a full blown remake/reboot myself.
