Can you believe the first chapter of the Lord of the Rings movie trilogy was released 20 years ago? This calls for a celebration 📯

Curious to see what they'll do. Asmus Toys has the 1/6 scale figures down, Prime 1 is doing 1/4 scale statues, and Weta are making 1/6 statues and dioramas.

The more places that make LOTR the better.

Having only ever watched all three movies once, and that was back when they came out (years ago) i am surprise LOTR is as popular as it is. I guess it is?

It's probably a little unfair to give the full accountability of LotR success to the movie's alone. The books already had a huge following prior to the movie's, not to mention all the derivative material created off the back of LotR - such as Dungeons & Dragons, Warhammer - and most other "Sword & Sorcery" epics.
JRR Tolkien did for "fantasy" what Asimov or Herbert did for Sci Fi.....in my opinion.

Infinity Studios is doing 1/1 busts & 1/2 statues. DarkSide Studios also appears to be planning 1/4 scale statues.

Yup Not a bad thing for the customer though, hopefully this means that I get to have the LotR collection I've been waiting for.
So far I'm liking the Weta classics line the most, although I really hope that DarkSide does something awesome with the John Howe signature collection.

Agree. I like the Weta stuff, but I find it just too overpriced. The few things I actually would have bought, I didn't get before they sold out. And have not liked the Sideshow and Prime 1 stuff.
