Shang-Chi 8.5/10

If Marvel name wasn’t attached to Shang-Chi, than this would just be a standard Asian martial arts movie with some fantasy elements.

I did like the movie a lot and the choreography was excellent.

Batman: The Long Halloween, Part 1 and 2
7/10

I liked Catwoman best. The way she moves over the rooftops of Gotham is fantastic.
The story is ok even if predictable in the end. The drawings have a lot of detail, especially Gotham, and the scenes are fun to dive into

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021) - Shang-Chi, the master of unarmed weaponry-based Kung Fu, is forced to confront his past after being drawn into the Ten Rings organization.

I agree that the first half of the movie was better than the second half. 7.5/10

Voyagers: Multi-generation voyage to find a suitable planet for the human race falls apart in a Lord of the Flies in space. 5.5/10 promising start and premise let down by final third.

The Relic: Australian horror movie with some genuine scares but ultimately a head scratcher. 6/10

The Protege: a rather enjoyable shoot em up movie with Maggie Q. 7/10

Black Widow. Not so much a review of the movie but of the 4K BR. Superior in every way over the 4K streaming. Still to go a long way to beat psychical media.

Physical media in my books will always win out. Apparently they made a 4K/3D Blu ray on this. Wish the studios would continue to make 3D Blu ray movies.

Finally got my hands on the Scream Factory Friday the 13th Box Set. Overall I would give this collection a 10/10. The Special / Bonus Features I are jawdropping. Over 24hrs of be-hind the scenes on the 16 disc set. I regret buying last month’s Friday the 13th 8-movie collection (first 4 are remastered). It’s absolutely no comparison to the Scream collection especially the 3rd movie. I also own the 8-movie collection from a year ago and compared the 3rd movie 3D and again, it surpassed everything.

Here’s the Review ratings of the 12 movies.

Friday the 13th 8/10
Must have seen this so many times and the quality of the movie 4K scan is the best of the lot. Fantastic intro to the series.

Friday the 13th Part 2 7/10
New new 4K video scan again is great. Even better than the 2021 Blu Ray version by Paramount.

Friday the 13th Part 3 (in 2D/3D) 6/10 The entire 3D was fantastic. No red/blue gimmick glasses here. They actually used a new 3D transfer here. This was the intro to Jason and the Hockey mask. My only knock is Part 3 is the grainiest of movie of the series. I don’t even see the 4K scan here. If it wasn’t for the new 3D scan, I would had given this a 5/10.

Friday the 13th The Final Chapter 7/10
Not a fan of the movie itself but the 4K scan was very well done.

Friday the 13th Part 5 A New Beginning 4/10
Never like the story line.

Friday the 13th Part 6 Jason Lives 6/10
Jason brought back to life. Overall it’s a decent slasher film.

Friday the 13th Part 7 The New Blood 5/10
I hated the ending of the movie. It made absolutely no sense how someone who died years ago, was brought back and looks almost like he wasn’t even dead at all. He should had looked like a zombie corpse when he interacted with Jason.

Friday the 13th Part 8 Jason Takes New York 3/10
This was a very weak script and didn’t care for the ending.

Jason goes to Hell 5/10 I would had given this a 4/10 but the special feature on this was insane.

Jason X 3/10
Didn’t like this movie at all. Cheap CGI and the out of space stuff was just so stupid. This was also the last Scream disc as the last two are just straight port from the previous studio.

Jason Vs Freddy 7/10
Jason looked stiff in this movie but there is nothing wrong with having 2 icons fighting each other. Couldn’t care if the story was weak also.

Friday the 13th remake 7.5/10
I really like the remake of this movie. Jason actually looks like Jason without the god awful look of a guy wearing a costume mask.

Friday the 13th Bonus Material 2 Disc 10/10
Bonus material stuff never before seen on any other Jason DVD/Blu Ray release.

you may be the first person i've met who likes the original best. but come on, part 9 being better than any movie makes me question your Friday judgement
