Shang Chi Omnibus - Worth buying?

This is another seventies series I bypassed as I was much more into superheroes as a kid. Was this a strong run throughout? Better than WBN?

The consensus seems to be it's one of the best 70's series, still holding up today, especially once Doug Moench found his footing and Paul Gulacy came on board.

I absolutely loved this series as a kid & remember it as being one of my very favorite 70's Marvel titles. I snapped up every team-up, giant-sized-special, two-in-one, etc ... w/ Shang-Chi in it. From back-story to his regular adventures, this book was special. It hit around the same time David Caridine's Kung-Fu show was huge along w/ Bruce lee movies. Paul Gulacy's art in the book was just outstanding & Mike Zeck picked it up later w/ splash-panels that just blew my mind. Doug Monech wrote the lions' share of the tales as I recall.
There was a great Giant-Sized Spiderman where both Spidey & Shang-Chi jumped off the top of the Empire State Building that still pops into my mind today.
Master of Kung-Fu had a strong S.H.I.E.L.D-type spy thing going on in its backstory w/ Shang-Chi having a pretty cool collection of companions.
This & Tomb of Dracula stand on the same level in my opinion as absolute classics of 1970's Marvel. As good as it got back then. Shang was both hunted & hunter in this series as his Dad, Fu Manchu, threw everything he had at his son.
I can not recommend this comic enough & am sure it will be, like Ennis' Punisher Omni, one of the impossible to find Marvel Omnibus of the future. Buy this one. I so am.

Mike Zeck's art on Shang-Chi, The Master Of Kung-Fu .... Fantastic!

Heheh, I had that one as a kid, too. Loved that cover.

I saw the solicitation for this yesterday and actually cheered out loud, and I figured a few others here would, as well. So Marvel finally saw fit to take care of the Fu Manchu licensing issue?

But too bad they won't do the same with The Micronauts and ROM.

I think Micronauts and Rom were grabbed up by IDW. I don't know if that includes reprint rights though.

Me too. Wonder if any of Shang's team-ups will be included in the Omni?

* side-note - It's because of Shang-Chi's 70's book(s) that I've argued the case on more than a few threads here, that he's the best hand-to-hand fighting hero in the MU. I'll be curious, after the omnibus hits, if any of my SF brothers/sisters might agree w/ me.
