That first panel-along with the $ going to charity, of course-make this worth whatever you paid!

Stepping outside of your focus is good imo. I've shied away from Dark Phoenix pieces in recent years and I feel like it opened up more art for me. I guess I have pieces of her by most all artists I really wanted or hoped to pick up. I'll still commission her here and there but adding other characters has been great! I've gone with ones I love from over years of reading and collecting comics (Conan, Death, the Joker, Ben Grimm, Nick Fury, Afrodisiac, Miles Davis and others). I go with artists I feel fit the character and I've been happy with the results. It's not hurt my wallet as my art budget is basically the same and it's reignited my passion for comission pieces nowadays.

So, way to go Dave!

Thanks brother. I hear you and love the direction your collection has taken since we first met. The charity part of the equation was the most important part and I am not really sure where I would have stopped in terms of bidding as it was a fundraiser that my GF helped organize for her son’s special needs. The piece has a lot more meaning that what can be seen on the page.

Pretty cool! I always wonder sometimes when I see a hyper-focused collection and then random stuff like this and wonder how they ended up with it.
