lol, dude, if I could afford that...well let's just leave it at that.

But I actually agree, I rarely go to the theater anymore. My TV at home tends to have a much better clarity...even if it isn't 219"

Same, I might go twice a year to the theater...

I've upgraded my home theater to a 82" HDTV with 7.1 surround sound... This way I don't have to put up with people texting, talking, munching on their food or making stupid comments during the movie...

Plus I can drink booze for those really bad movies

I go to the movies, won't lie. And usually it's because of the popcorn.

We have a pretty large TV, but no surround sound. Our receiver died and we just haven't replaced it. Truthfully, I hate all the wires and the amount of speakers that go with surround sound. I like sleek and less clutter the better. I wonder how a soundbar would work, but my husband doesn't think it will match. I don't want the room to shake while I'm watching TV (not a movie) though! ANybody got a soundbar they liked to chime in on?

I still go to the movies and I do have 65" LG OLED 4K TV. At our theatre I don't experience the obnoxious behavior others seem to. But it's mostly blockbuster type movies we see.

The room I have the TV in is only around 20x16 in size... The room was an addition to the house so I was able to run all the wires for the surround sound through the wall, so no ugly wires

They do make wireless speakers, comes in handy for rear and side speakers.... the front speakers you can usually hide those wires behind the cabinet holding all the equipment..

I believe for 80" you need about 15 or 16' of distance from screen.

I wished I held off buying my 65" one last year. During the holidays Best Buy was selling a Samsung 4K 80" for about $3700 cdn (reg $4999).

I still enjoy going to the movies, especially with my sons. It's great to see their awe watching the movies on the big screens. This year, I will be taking my daughter to the theatres for the first time to see Toy Story 4 and Frozen 2, so that should be a treat for her.
