I always felt that this team had an odd line-up but being a kid at the time I hadn't even considered that the creators were just trying to get exposure for certain characters. Ghost Rider was a poor fit for this team (IMO).

It was clear that Stan Lee preferred teams that represented the elements of nature. Maybe he should have used a different character to represent fire (or spirituality).

I understood why they put Ghost Rider in the Book since he had his own comic but I remember reading they considered Tigra, Captain Marvel and Black Goliath (who guest starred) and thinking those might have been better choices.

However, if they did some type of reunion mini series with the 5 original characters I would be up for that.
