Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

I was lucky enough to catch a sneak peek of this movie yesterday thanks to my writer/friend David Walker.

I'm a huge fan of the Indiana Jones saga, and was unimpressed with the previews. I was fully expecting the movie to SUCK.

While nothing can ever match the sense of wonder I felt when seeing the 1st Raiders movie, this new foray hits all the marks that fans of the series will enjoy seeing.

The fact that Harrison Ford is -what 65 now?...is distracting for a while, but the texture and cinematography of the film makes it enjoyable on several levels.

Karen Allen looks incredibly happy to be on film again! Shia LeBouf (sp?) is well cast as Indy's protege'.

As in any fantasy adventure, one can pick apart this movie until you've convinced yourself that none of it is possible. My suggestion: Don't expect that this will blow away the previous films. Just enjoy the ride, and don't think too hard about the reality of it.

I give it 3 out of 4 smileys:

Wow! Thanks, Randy, for the review! I've been looking forward to this, and it's nice to hear from someone I respect sound off on this film.

Now I'll have to go and see it in the theater. Better go to the bank and see about a signature loan to afford it.... LOL.

Good to hear that it's not a complete disaster (as much of the press is reporting). Looking forward to it sometime this weekend.

Good to hear, Randy. I don't think that ANYTHING could ever top Raiders, but it's good that this new pic doesn't sully the reputation of the series. That was my main worry.

I just saw Raiders again over the weekend. It's just such an amazing piece of work.

A wise decision. Keep your expectations low, and you won't be disappointed.

If someone tells you this is the greatest movie ever; you will most assuredly be disappointed.
