I know my limitations in advance!

Okay fellas, since I don’t know any welders in my neck of the woods I had to use alternative methods raising my glass shelf to fit all 3 of my Surfers and Thor statue in the detlofs cases. A fellow forum member Quicksilver was nice to offer some tips to elevate the glass here are couple of pics to show what was used:

Close up of the bumpers shows I stacked 5 bumpers to elevate the glass shelve fit the statue in the case. I applied crazy glue adhesive on the IKEA bumpers and each of the bumpers that I'd stacked on to give it height.

I also did the same thing with the Thor statue and another statue (Omega Red) not pictured:

Close up of the bumpers shows I used 4 bumpers to elevate the glass shelve fit the statue in the case. The max you could use is 5 bumpers. Anything beyond 5 bumpers will destabilized the glass shelf causing it shift from side to side in the case.

This is what I used to raise the glass on my shelves:

What works me may not necessarily translate well for you in your situation. You don’t have to use this but there are other ways of raising the glass without happen to dig deep in the pockets.

Yzerman99 Good luck with whatever method you use bro.

excellent job, I tried cutting the original bars, was a pain, so I gave up and rewelded, but I may give that a try, where did you get the bars? Homedepot or lowes?

I'm in the process of adding more shelves to my Detolf cabinets, as i am limited to 2x 1/4 scale statures per cab.
So far i've obtained thicker glass shelves.

Since i am no welder, i have opted to take the U Bolt Clamp route. Having read this guide, the poster mentions using 4x 3/16" wire rope clips per shelf.
http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/thread...helves.423114/

Having obtained the 4x 3/16" wire rope clips (via email) discovered they are too small

Having measured the Detlof vertical metal bars (which i should have done in the 1st place ) they are 6mm. The correct clips are:
6MM Stainless Steel Saddle Clamp Cable Clip
M6 Stainless Steel Saddle Clamp Cable Clip

They don't have to be stainless steel, but they do look better.

Under the corner of each piece of glass is a round stick on pad to cushion any unevenness.
The spare space on the left if for either Catwoman or Captain Marvel, depending on how heavy they are.

Given how heavy Black Widow and Ms Marvel are, I still would not place them on a glass shelf.

I went the ubolt route and it worked fantastically. I just measured and marked the detolf case, then leveled them out by hand. Worked like a dream and I'm beyond pleased with the outcome.
