I agree with Danno paint it till it pleases you, 2 grail prepaints Deathdealer and Moores barbarian great sculpts but the painting doesn't live up to the potential of the sculpts. These 2 grails I am repainting to my specs a lot of other statues I just add on and finely detail because prepaints usually lack in the details, as far as selling goes I would rather buy the one that pleases my eye out of the prepaint or repaint.

Re-paint to your heart's content IMHO. There's nothing like having a piece you're proud to have on your shelves exactly the way you want it to be.

yeah, go for it! If you know how to achieve a better look to it, then do it. There's nothing worse than showing your statues and feeling the need of saying "the sculpt is great, but the paint job is so-so..."
I'd say if you can spot the difference from the original painting, then you're good enough for repainting, or at least touching it up.

Worry about the second hand value later...
