Thanks for the pictures Grumpy. Looking really good. Really like that they pulled inspiration from the Nemesis base. Hope we see Shockwave or Galvatron at winter Wonderfest.

It's absolutely hot rod but agree, it looks fantastic.

Wish it was true to rodimus but either way, great piece.

It's like a mix of Hot Rod and Rodimus. If they changed the alt form to be correct, it would pass as Rodimus. However, the alt mode is great, so they could also change the statue a little to be Hot Rod. I'm annoyed that it is mixed. Does anybody at XM really know Transformers?

I caved and POed him just to show support for a Galvatron.

I can live with the source material they cobbled him together with. To be fair I never liked Rodimus's vehicle form without his trailer, the toy looked weird without it and let's be honest, XM Optimus & Nemesis didn't get trailers with their alt forms so maybe this was XM splitting the difference by only using the car without the trailer for space. Not defending it but they never answered me so it's more fun to speculate. At least Galvatron should look more modern G1 as his design barely changes from medium to medium. Would love to see a Unicron inspired base, Matrix around his neck and Starscream's crushed crown under his foot or base.

Id go for crushed crown with 2 standing charred lower legs
Basically a ceremony base.

I think this piece turned out very cool. Strong interest on a G1 Galvatron but my only concern is the modern twist. I much prefer my pieces to look like the characters from the cartoons. Good to see companies producing either way.
