LUCY 3/5
Decent flick & entertaining, but didn't deliver the punch I was hoping for.

Transcendence: Dull/10 - That's right it gets a score of 'dull' . . . . I hadn't heard great things about it but I liked the premise. But it really was just plain boring. Even the 'exciting' bits at the end were boring. So much potential with hive minds, rampant AI and nano-technology . . . all squandered in the pursuit of boredom. Keep a copy handy if you suffer from insomnia.

Hercules: 6.5/10 - Saw it on the weekend in 3D (prefer not to see 3D but it was the only option at the time). It was good fun. Didn't take itself too seriously and I quite liked the take on the mythology of Hercules. Probably would have scored it higher, but the pacing was a bit off. There were some really drawn out slow segments, but it ramps up a few hundred % at the end. It's the ROCK smashing people. What's not to love

DO you really think it would be much different if Arnold or Vin Diesel was in his place instead?

The best thing about "Lucy" doing so well, and besting a Rock action flick, is that it was a further eye opener for the Studios with comic book properties in regards to the viability of female led CBM's.

Umm...she bested a comic book movie. I guess you didn't know the movie is based on this title?

Shallow Grave - 4.5/10

Been a long time since I've seen this film and remember enjoying this much more on my initial viewing. Upon revisiting it I found it to be average at best and certain aspects of the characters a bit annoying frankly. Not one of Danny Boyle's better films and quite possibly my least favorite of his efforts.

Spectacular Now ~ 4/5

A little unsure where it was heading at times but it all wrapped up and left the ending open to interpretation
