That's actually the third 'Geoff Johns' JSA volume.

Good catch. Thanks!

For next year Marvel will be releasing these items to support the next Avengers movie:

Avengers by Stan Lee Omnibus Vol. 2
Avengers by Kurt Busiek and George Perez Omnibus Vol. 1
Uncanny Avengers Omnibus
Avengers: Vibranium Edition

No info on what will be in the Vibranium edition. I already have the OHCs for the Perez run and I'm collecting the MMWs for early Avengers stuff. But I am in for sure with the Uncanny Avengers omnibus.

I'm delighted the second volume original Avengers omnibus will be produced. This is too long in coming and shouldn't have to wait for a movie tie-in.

I also have all 5 of the Busiek Avengers oversized HCs, titled "Avengers Assembled." And I'm getting Uncanny Avengers in the HC volumes. So will pass on that omnibus.

Curious what will be in the vibranium collection.

I have the Masterworks so I won't be buying the Avengers Omnibus vol 2.

I would realy like Amazing spiderman Omnibus vol 3

Now that's an Omnibus I have been waiting on... and still waiting since there has been no announcement.

The first Wolverine omnibus came out in 2009. I'm still waiting for volume 2 five years later!

need some help deciding on my next Omni purchase. I have it narrowed down to these but can't make the choice:

-Punisher Max (Aaron)
-Wolverine (Millar)
-Uncanny X-Men v.1 (Claremont)
-F4 v.2 (Byrne)

The Millar Wolverine is excellent. I've read mine twice now, cover to cover, & believe I have all the original issues down in long boxes, which is saying something. He did great work w/ the character.

The Byrne FF, V2 is a no brainer, for me. He wrote & drew the family really well. Just tons of fun. I have VI, & intend to get VII soon, even though I have all the original issues. When I buy stories twice, it means I think they're great!

Punisher Max Aaron - Did not care for the book. I was too spoiled by his predecessor, Garth Ennis. Aaron just couldn't touch Ennis as far as I was concerned. It was all over the place.

X-Men, Claremont ... you could do a lot worse. I don't own the Omni, but I enjoyed the hell out of his run.

I would rank these like so:

1 Uncanny X-Men
2 FF4 Bryne vol 2
3 Punisher Max (Aaron)
4 Wolverine (Millar)

However, I have not yet read Punisher Max.

If you have not picked up the Uncanny X-Force omnibus I would recommend that over any of these. One of the best written stories I've read this year. Has some excellent philosophical depth to go along with the action.

Most recently I read the two Library Editions of Fear Agent by Dark Horse. I say these are also worth consideration as the story is very well written (though both volumes need to be read to really understand the depth (In Stock Trades has them for under $60 for both editions and free shipping).

I loved Aaron's Punisher MAX but did not read Ennis' run so can't comment on Jerry's comment, except to say I trust his point of view. The Byrne FF vol 2 is great stuff as is volume 1. For me, the Claremont X-Men just does not hold up. Simply too much exposition. I don't think Claremont could get out of his own way and just was too much in love with the sound of his own voice. Loved these books when they first came out but now, decades later, they just do not hold up.

Thanks all. Think I'm going to go with the Millar Wolverine first and follow it up with F4 v2 next month

Admittedly, I've never been much of an X-fan but am trying to read a bit here and there. The only thing that was holding me back on the Claremont run was precisely what you mentioned (about it not holding up very well). I fear if I read it, I'll never want to read another X-title

I'd love to try it, but I've just never been a fan of Remender's work
