Wizard World Chicago Haul

You know people say that Wizard has fallen off...that its become a flea market of sorts...that it caters to B-list celebrities...

But to me, Wizard Chicago continues to deliver. Small artist alley but filled with quality artists. Going up and down the aisle you had Art Adams, Simon Bisley, Mike Zeck, Tyler Kirkham, Ken Lashley, Whilce Portacio. All talented and all bringing quality.

This year's main goal was simple - Art Adams.

With no exhibitor pass in hand and no early VIP entrance, my chances were slim.

But you know how it goes, where there is a will, there is a way:

Other items on the to do list - The Biz:

Biz is a character. Did I overpay? Possibly. But he's the Biz.

With Lashley in the mix, I needed to get him on my Titans jam:

And with the quality Lashley was producing, it was time to put my X-ladies jam to rest. And luckily Jeff Balke resurrected some of the ones that needed life to them:

And then on Saturday as I was going to go for round 2 of the Biz, we stopped by Tyler Kirkham's table and for the quality and rates he was offering, I couldn't resist:

As always, good to hang out with the Chicago crew and catch up. The art gods were good to most but not all but we all know that the lone outlier will bring the heat at NYCC!

And an added bonus - my Jon Bogdanove contribution courtesy of my good buddy Josh!

Better pics of the art with the artists and other show pics are on my instagram: eewwnuk

Enjoy!

What a weekend indeed! That Harley - stunning! The Lashley and Kirkham - awesome. I know how you feel about the Bisley, but still, it's Bisley!

That Balke color did save the jam you have.

Wizard was good this time, crazy.

Your Batvillians jam is far and away my favorite. Not one single artist phoned their character in. Your choice of Art, and his smooth work, was a perfect choice for Harley.

After seein how tight the work was on the Batvillains Jam, it was kind of a darkhorse favorite of mine (beside your Ladies Jam and your He-Man villains Jam) since everyone really nailed their contribution. Even the conflicting styles of Williams and Castillo works perfectly because of the contrast in characters...Freeze needs to be a different tone entirely, almost like he exists on a different plane, and scarecrow probably wouldn't have worked as well with the tight lines that are used on Joker and Penguin....then you top it off with one of the greatest artists of all time, doing a classic Harley....this thing is phenomenal!!

Also, dude, your Lash contributions are crazy good. He really tightened up his line work for yours and Davids contributions and it turned out phenomenal....a little different than what we're used to seein from the Lash man!

Killer Haul, dude...and thanks again for the epic pick-ups!!!

thanks dude. your lashleys are headed for shipping in about an hour - glad to have that over with!

I would say that every piece of art that I saw coming out of this show was quality. not a stinker in the bunch!
