Read up on why people argue about edition sizes? I'm not following.

I just meant there are already a lot of posts about opinions of both sides. I don't really want to spell it out again just to get buried in a thread most won't read. Bottom line is pre-order strategies have changed and it isn't as simple as buy or not buy anymore. There is probably already a dedicated thread, if not there probably should be. It ends up coming up in just about every thread now and some people can't handle adult discussions unfortunately.

Never understood the tension between the two sides. Do whatever you want.
I don’t know about tension between the two types your referencing but my dislike for TBD and High ES has zero to do with resale value.
It leads to chances of poorer than the currently lackluster QC and the statue not selling out and going down significantly in price-shortly after release (which is just about smart purchasing- not resale value)

I understand both sides of the argument. I get that if everyone jumps on pre-orders, edition sizes go up and resale value on these things is affected. But as I've pointed out before, there are cons to not pre-ordering/lower edition sizes as well, like companies not finishing lines/scrapping projects due to low pre-order numbers. There are drawbacks both ways. If no one pre-orders and editions sizes went way down across the board, that would be an issue for future product, and no future product means people bail on the hobby. So it is complicated, but not in the ways people who are so entrenched on one side or the other think it is. We need BOTH buying behaviors - people holding off and people pre-ordering - for a healthy market, not either-or.

What I don't understand (said more as a figure of speech, because I do understand) is the arguing. Neither side is gonna convince the other, because people will do whatever they want with their money and hobby. So on an individual level, it really is as simple as do whatever you want because, again, the hobby needs both type of buyers.
