Lets break down a Superman comic, there's tons of violence in them, doesn't matter if he's a good guy beating up a bad guy, violence is violence, and lets not forget all the women in these comic books who wear extremely tight clothing or very little of it with breasts the size of wrecking balls... women are extremely sexualized in these comics... So how is this comic a role model for your kid?

I think a sadder statement would be that someone would want their kid to use these comic book characters as role models, whatever happen to the parent being a good role model?

I have no issue with DC putting out kid friendly comic books about Superman for kids, but at the same time they can also put out books that are more adult friendly (and no I don't mean in a porn way).

And I don't believe I ever said being a role model or a good person is cheesy, I said as an adult I find watching kid friendly comics/movies/cartoons cheesy.... There's a big difference

But your statement brings up another question, if a cop has to kill a person to protect himself or someone else is he now a bad person or a bad role model? Because that's what your implying with your statement above. Or how about a soldier, are they a bad person and/or role model after having to kill someone in combat?

Why is he better then us?

If Superman was better then us he wouldn't use violence at all. He would use his superior brain to talk his way out of having to use violence in the first place....

If Superman was better then us why would he go and get Lois Lane pregnant without marrying her? You did see Superman II and Superman Returns did you not?

So to get this straight, killing a person in self defense is a sin for Superman but being immoral and getting someone pregnant is ok....

Superman killed Doomsday, in the John Byrne era he killed Zod, and in the Golden Age he’s killed villains. It’s always as a last resort but he still killed them

@built2shred It's action which is different than violence(imo); Running, jumping, flying, fighting, skydiving, it's a sense of adventure. Violence is something that makes you flinch, like ripping your limbs off, or chopping your head off, or snapping your neck like a pencil. Can he do that? Yeah, he can, he even can take over the planet but he doesn't, because he's better than any human can ever be

Isn't the "American Way" to arm ourselves and shoot to kill as a last resort to protect ourselves or others? I see Superman's actions killing Zod in MOS the same thing.
