How to make capes?

I am trying to make my own statues and would like to know how to make capes (Batman, Super Man, Darth Vader.....) in many positions.

Thanks

My advice would be to use AVES EPOXY SCULPT. Sculpt your statue, bake it, then mix up some AVES and roll it through a pasta machine. Cut the desired shape, then get some wax paper sprinkle some baby powder on it and lay your AVES cape flat on the powdered paper. If you want the cape to be hanging straight down go ahead and apply it to your baked statue, let it hang for a little bit. After about 20 to 30 minutes grab both sides of the cape( while its attached to your statue ) a gently push the sides in creating fabric type rolls. You can also add more aves for more detailed wrinkles.

If you want to have a dynamic type cape( cape flowing to the side ) use the same steps as above, but let the AVES sit a little longer( it will start to get stiffer ). The stiffer it gets the more you can adjust its direction and also add more in depth rolls. Also I forgot to mention let the mixed up AVES sit for about 15 minutes before running it through the pasta machine. AVES is extremly strong and doesn't need an armature, but if you want you can double layer your cape. I'd say run it through the machine on setting 7, cut your shape, run leftover( make sure you mix up enough ) back through on setting 7 or 6( depending how thick you want your cape ) cut same shape and apply it to first shape.

I hope this helps.

Brian.

I don't know about the rest of you guys, but when I make capes, I actually use fabric. I mean, do you know how much plastic can chafe???
