What I like to do next is tip the mold slightly and rotate it thereby sloshing the wax around the inner walls of the mold. The wax sticks to the walls as it cools (rapidly I might add). This is done to help prevent shrinkage. If you were to just pour and let it sit and cool, it would do so, but be prepared as your piece may slightly or greatly warp and shrink as the wax cools.
This "roto-casting" helps create a layer to the inside walls that hardens. I repeat this step a couple of times before I finally just pour the rest in and leave it be.
