It's a paper size, a reference to international standards and most often used in Europe, especially England.
A4 is a regular sheet of office paper. A3 is 11x17.

Also used as the standard paper size in Australia
Oh, and that Colossus piece is a great score at many times the charged price - congrats! Best.
