Fascinating read
I've been glued to the monitor for the last hour reading this thread. Very interesting stuff...Sorry if it's old news to everyone...it's new to me!

hes not the first, and wont be the last to do that.Rich Buckler did the same on the Fantastic Four using kirby's previous work.
I dont mind the odd homage, but to copy another artists work and call it your own? dodgy !

Tommy Lee Edwards was using Bowen statues for some covers a bit ago.

It has that slow car wreck effect on you...it's hard to watch, but you can't look away. Apparently Mack was even caught in a lie about talking to Adam about it before the book was started. That turned out not to be true. The other weird thing is that Marvel (knowing about all this) still chose to publish the book. There's examples where every figure on the page was swiped from Hughes and Alan Davis and Marvel thinks this is acceptable? Yeesh.

People do it, yes, but this is different...these are clearly lightboxed copies. There's an example somewhere where Mack flipped a hand so he could light box it as a left instead of a right. It was an AH drawing of Fairchild. Mack took the right hand of Fairchild and reversed it to use it as a left hand on Echo.

Brian Htch did a similar thing when he first started, using pencils from Alan Davis, that Alan had sent him and basically just copying them.thankfully hes grown into a terrific artist.

Very interesting topic.
How can Mack justify all that swiping of other peoples work?

Ouch! Never seen a mans life work get deconstructed in 16 pages! Wonder what Mack is thinking?
