XM vs SS: Round 1

XM has popped up rather quickly with great Marvel 1/4 statues. From photos, which version of these characters do you prefer?

SS Captain America



XM Captain America



SS Black Widow



XM Black Widow



SS Hulk



XM Hulk




For me, Cap is a toss up. I like the realistic take of SS's but the pose for XM's demands presence.

Black Widow definitely goes to XM imo.

For Hulk I like SS's version better.

Not really a fan of the Iron Man armor and since SS hasn't released pics I held this one out.

What do you guys think?

To be fair, these pieces need to be in-hand.
Also, XM pieces are practically double the price.

That's fair to say, but these are 1/4 comic versions of the same characters and it's fair to compare them imo. And the prices on the XM pieces have to do with shipping/importing costs more than anything.

I'm saying, price aside, which pieces do you prefer *IF* quality is equal?

I don't get the hate for the new SS Hulk, it's better than the original PF imo.

A new company based in Singapore that has a Marvel license. They can't sell in the US so shipping makes them very expensive.

Check pages 27, 36 and 40. Magneto is on page 36 and it is special!

I prefer the XM Cap, the Sideshow Hulk, and I'm ambivalent on Widow. I don't like the overly manga-influenced head sculpt on the XM Widow, but it's definitely a much more elaborate sculpt than the PF.

But at the end of the day, I don't like any of these XM sculpts enough to pay the higher cost. Magneto is the first one that has me seriously considering it.
