Art Day: Jack Kirby's Swan Song For DC Comics

My first art for 2013 is Jack Kirby's last art for DC Comics.

Jack Kirby, who energized the entire comic industry, draws Superman, who started the superhero comic industry, as well as other major DC Characters - Batman, Wonder Woman - who he rarely drew. This page feels like some sort of "bookend" and "grail" to my comic art collecting especially since I grew up reading this comic and playing with the Super Powers toys.

I am really ecstatic to own this piece. What do you guys think? Feel free to check it out and comment. Being a CAF Premium member, I saw to it that the images are in their maximum file size.

Thanks for the likes and comments in the page. While many have low regard for Kirby's late-period work, this is a personal grail and personal piece of history for me who is a DC Comics art collector (and not really into Marvel stuff). Having this as pristine untouched pencils makes it extra special.

Since my first sharing of this in this forum, I have since added a picture of the art framed in the Additional Images section.

As a premium member, and with six additional images in CAF, I want to ask out loud and wonder out loud: Would it be a good idea to use that section to post a picture of the artist?

I was just thinking that apart from just viewing incredible art, it would be nice to see those who stumble into CAF to also put a face behind the incredible art.

What are your thoughts?
