Particularly when you're dealing with a piece that size and with that degree of complexity.
dont get me wrong if it was just the base or a blemish that was not noticeable or on the armour where it could be passed off as "damage" id keep it to avoid the hassle

Not in the least. You have to go with what you yourself are comfortable with.
At $2000, I think you're allowed to be picky.

If you are at 7'6'' of clearance right now, then removing a small section of the floor may take care of the problem, that is if you are willing to do that.

I might be willing to do that. I'll put marble in certain spots for display of these giant pieces.

You're not being silly at all. You have to be happy with it. If its something that will always bug you, its really not worth it. Sometimes I have the most minor detail on a piece that troubles me enough to sell it (even if it is a mint piece). At the end of the day, the statue is purely for your own enjoyment. If you don't enjoy it (because of a defect), the whole purpose in obtaining it has been lost, regardless of price.

I need to call HCG to get the EXACT height of the piece if possible, don't know if their measurements are exact or approximate.

You'll lose the light up effect, won't you?
