Auction Hunters....

Have you guys seen this show on Spike? Man o man, they go to storage units and bid on them and then sell whatever is in them and you should see the things they find. I hope I never lose my storage unit or my family at least has the sense to sell those items before they get auctioned off...

Its all scripted. In other words, fake. I do this for a living and I know first hand that those kind of finds NEVER happen. A few of the auctioneers that I personally know from the show have told me this to be true as well. Im always finding small coin collections, gold/silver jewelry, etc... Thats about as good as it gets in this business.

That's what I figured. The people can't afford to pay their storage fees but they can afford to own valuable antique firearms?

So Storage Wars is fake also? That show can be entertaining especially when they go at each other.

so do they preload these units with various value of stuff and they people just bid on them hoping they are getting good stuff?

What's the coolest thing you have ever found and what was the most expensive?

The good stuff is only put into the units that the stars of the show win.

Coolest: A huge collection of NES games. There was like 200 game carts total, and a few systems. Only worth a few hundred, but it brought back some good memories from my childhood.

Most value: I found some jewelry in a unit that made me close to 3,000$. It came from a unit previously owned by a drug addict. There were used crack pipes and needles scattered all through out the unit. And just like the pipes and needles, the jewelry was in random boxes. Open a box, find random stuff and a few gold chains. Open another box, find a silver ring, and a gold bracelet. Really strange how they had them packed. My guess is they probally forgot they had that stuff in there.
