Y'all are too deep into comic lore to see it.
Not talking recognition obviously.
The Marvel movies all have a similar formula but it isn't so plot driven as it is rhythm and tone as The Avengers, Iron Man , Ant Man, Guardians of the Galaxy. Ant Man is basically a poor man's Tony Stark. Guardians a group that plays like a slightly more serious Deadpool.
Batman is basically Iron Man in a different outfit but lacks anyone else much to play off other than an old man or Robin and we know the assumptions an older man too close to an young boy bring up.
The stoic, brooding, loner, of a martyr white guy isn't a note you can pound too many times. It isn't trendy enough to sufficiently appeal to the masses unless it's done just so and hits at just the right time.
Black Panther didn't do so well based on the merits of the film alone.
It's the jokes, the accessibility, the interpersonal interactions. Sarcasm is in man. Personality, sociability, popularity, current social trends. Solo acts aren't in.
These traits don't fit a Superman, Batman, a Goddess (though she is really pretty) or Aquaman as well try as they may to shoehorn them in. Thor works because of the constant jokes at the expense of his stoic godhood and Hemsworth is so trendily handsome compared to Ben Afflek who's a 20 years ago heartthrob.
Everybody so focused on that super serious plot and story. That's for the fans. Getting that silly money is about mass popularity. Like the Fast & Furious movies are awful but hugely popular because they have that humor, silly action, and shared history that people will gawk at for a diversion for a couple hours. Or how the Mission Impossible movies work as old tried as both Tom Cruise and it's formula are.
Here's an example.

Star Wars is even less relatable. That's why they went with Solo. He's the "coolest" guy of that bunch but it just didn't work.
