In my eyes Mary Jane is as important as Spider Man that's why the best Spider Man statue so far is the XM diorama with Mary Jane.
But without talking about that i dislike this statue because Spider Man doesn't look as i know him compared to the Mary Jane diorama or the upcoming Prime 1 Spider Man.
By the way i think that the Prime 1 Spider Man will be the best Spider Man statue without Mary Jane, the concept and the pose are amazing unlike the new XM one which is way too weird in my opinion.
The only thing that i like with the XM Spider Man is the Octopus mechanical arm. The face with the mask is good but the unmasked portrait is really ugly in my opinion.

Daniel Bel was working on a piece for Imaginarium, that then got picked up/absorbed by Prime 1. It's status is still in limbo, I believe.

It's subjective. I am a fan of dynamic statues that show some characteristic of a characters power. Just about any SPiderman statue that has been done has shown that to some degree.
Some though like strictly museum poses (Bowen for instance).
There really is no right and wrong way of portraying Spidey in an action pose cause of how agile he is. In terms of what statue does the best job of telling a story or conveying emotion, XM and IS Spideys do that in spades.

there's nothing subjective about it. Plain and simple, the best spidey statue is SS's JSC's comiquette.

I think from the angle most would like to display this at, yes, the torso is too bulky.

Nah, I would take the regular comiquette and PF over the JSC comiquette. Plain and simple.

Regarding the 1/4 scale pieces that have been actually released thus far, my top favorite is the Sideshow PF.
I would also love the Iron Studios Spidey piece if it wasn't made of cheap plastic and was worth the money they were charging for it.
This XM Spidey piece is just doing nothing for me.

Well XM is my favourite now.
The IS looked great but the terrible QC and plastic take out out of the equation.
I'm a big fan of the Koto 1/6 Spidey by Sosa but It's 1/6.
I know people love them but none of the SS Spidey's have done it for me.
