Oniri Creations in Liquidation

Despite the near-certainty of losing our advance payments to Oniri, we want to reassure our customers that those who trusted us by buying from us were right and that they will lose nothing unlike us.
We will therefore assume our responsibilities for the active pre-orders concerned and offer:
- A credit note on the website or on any future order
- A refund
We will process the requests received by email as and when they are received and as quickly as possible. However, given the number of orders concerned, we would ask you for a certain amount of indulgence in the time taken to reply to your emails.
Thank you for your understanding and support

According to information I was able to consult this morning, the French studio has been in receivership since 15 January 2024. This information should be taken with a grain of salt, however, as liquidation does not necessarily mean permanent closure. A liquidator is generally appointed to find a solution for repaying all creditors, with priority given to suppliers and banks before customers.
If, unfortunately, closure is confirmed, customers will suffer the most, as they are usually the last to be reimbursed in the event of liquidation. This raises concerns about pre-orders, particularly those placed directly with the manufacturer, which could be lost in the event of closure.
It is regrettable that the company is not taking the trouble to communicate a denial or, in the worst case, a warning to its customers. This lack of transparency is in stark contrast to the image the company portrays of itself as transparent and close to its community, which has supported it for years both on social networks and financially.
Our thoughts also go out to the company's employees, who will find themselves in a difficult situation and to whom we wish the best possible recovery.
It is to be hoped that the situation will evolve favourably, but it is important to remain attentive to developments in this case.

I'm so glad that I didn't order their Robocop statue. This development wasn't that surprising considering their lack of communication and their extreme lateness in the shipping of some of the their statues.

Does that mean that they will not deliver any statue to their customers?
I was on a payment plan for the RoboCop statue a long time ago and he is now paid in full.
Any advice on what to do nbow is very much appreciated.

Depends on who you ordered from. If it was a middle man like Specfiction or Secret Compass then you most likely are in good shape. Just email them.

In French Law, when a company goes into liquidation, creditors (e.g. customers who have paid for all or part of a product or service) must declare their claims to the liquidator within 2 months of publication of the opening judgment (which means February 3rd for you).
In the meantime, you can always try to file a claim with Paypal, but I think the conditions are drastic (6 months warranty if I'm not mistaken).

Heh, I canceled the Oniri Robocop at Spec a couple of months back (paid in full), took a slight hit moving the money to another preorder and have a ton of credit, guess I should have waited.
I do also have the Mikasa PO'd at BBTS, guess that's one I no longer have to worry about.
A shame, really liked their art direction and the one piece I have (their other Attack on Titan) was solid quality.

thats very sad to hear, hopefully there is some form of resolution for everyone who invested in the company with their preorders. i think an old member from here was their head painter, not sure if he was anything more to the company than that but he was always cool so sucks to hear from that angle as well. their stuff always looked pretty cool

I was on a payment plan for their RoboCop statue and the last payment was in november 2022.
I contacted my CC company but they can't do anything for me.
Maybe they still ship some of the statues since the deliveries were early this year..

Oof, I feel for people who had orders and deposits they now have to fight to get back.
