Should Pre-Order Deposits be lower?

Clearly the elephant in the room.

Should we be paying less for pre-order deposits?

Would you be able to order more if this was the case?

For me, i think i'd be able to afford more pre-orders.
Dropping $100+ almost every week for products that don't ship for at least another 1.5 years does seem like a substantial amount over time.

Most other companies have way less initial deposits and i think PCS is safe at this stage to at least halve their deposit requirements.

Vote away.

Well, I think most would say yes just because putting down less is always better on the wallet. What did you have in mind? Something more like Sideshow? 10%?

Well its evident that Pop Culture Shock has a significant customer base and a respectable following.

I think it would be safe to start requiring less of that "security" deposit.

Anything between 10-15% would be the sweet spot in my opinion.

Hmmm I'd say it depends more on PCS's point of view. Are they having a hard time getting their payments? Too many cancels? Is the money they get up front enough to start production?

Either way if you keep buying statues with $100 desposits every week the Piper's gonna come for you sooner rather than later.

PCS isn't as big as Sideshow and their website is not nearly as robust so I think the way they do things right now deposit wise makes sense. HMO wanted a two hundred dollar deposit on their recent original statue if I remember correctly. Really big companies can afford to deal with the hassle of cancellations and lost transactions and such, but smaller ones (I'm guessing) would rather have a high deposit price to encourage serious buyers only.

Obviously if PCS is fine with it then do it since it means a lower deposit for everyone. I personally like having to pay less in the end as I never do those payment plan things.

Though pre-orders every week?

If theyre comfortable putting these up at that rate, surely theyre confident they have a sufficient following.

I think that argument has expired at this stage.
Pop Culture Shock has made its name.

Think the deposit are extremely fair in price

I think they are fair as well. I do like paying a little more upfront which lowers the overall piece. I'm afraid if the deposit would be lower, then I would order even more than I do now, and end up in the same situation I am with sideshow, and have to cancel along the way as I cannot keep up due to lack of self control .

Deposit only pre-orders don't lower the overall price though.
