The New Frontier
OK guys, the Absolute New Frontier comes out this Wednesday and I'm on the fence of if I should get it or not. I originally passed on it because of the art, but after a while that grew on me, no I need to know if it has a good story to back the art up and if its worth my 75 bucks.

It's great - one of the best reads from DC of late.

Most definitely. One of the greatest comic book stories of the last few decades.

On the fence BECAUSE OF THE ART?!?!?!?
The art is the reason to buy this. Darwyn Cooke is the freshest artist around IMO. If you don't like the art, I say don't get it, and just quit comics altogether.

No, I didn't get the original release because of the art, but after seeing more of it online I do like it now. I was wondering if the story was good, which you guys confirmed. So I will be picking it up tomorrow now. Thanks guys.

And then go kick a dog!
Seriously, this is one heck of a story. And if you're into silver age characters, both major and obscure, this is your book. Lots of neat little references contained within. The annotations are a plus!

You won't be disappointed. Anyone who likes the period setting of New Frontier will find it worthwhile to seek out the Golden Age mini series by James Robinson and Paul Smith. They use all of the old JSA characters during McCarthy style hearings. It's awesome!
