The quickest way to double your money is to fold it in half and put it back in your pocket.

Just watched a video of the QS booth tour at JC. Justin said "a lot of these (prototype figures) will undergo many many tweaks before we get to second, third prototype stage".
He also said that CR Superman was the first prototype. He visited the office of QS and interviewed the boss there. So, his comments are credible, I believe.

Well given that their Cavill Superman head sculpt was also improved between when it was first teased and put up for preorder; chances are that it’s true.

This one, the Reeves. Cavill is close to perfect. I ordered that one.

Yea, I will just chalk this up to being too soon to judge fully. These guys have nailed everything so far and are known to make improvements regularly. They would probably have better served waiting until these were much further along in development considering how bad they look.

This feels like a "the studio is getting bigger, they need to either push more product out to meet overhead OR they are getting overwhelmed with newfound success, and quality is lagging" story. The items they have shown at this show definitely don't look as good as their early efforts.

If something is not ready to show, they should not show it.
Maybe InArt thought it was ready to show, and wanted feedback.
Since nearly all the feedback has been negative, i think we will see major changes made.
The Reeves portrait is a difficult face to master. Reeve's is up there with Harrison Ford and Scarlett Johansson. Look at how many attempts Hot Toys had at Black Widow before they got the SJ portrait on point, the End Game Black Widow being the best of them all.

And that was the first and only Black Widow figure I bought, and this is after almost 10 years of accumulating a bit less than a hundred 1/6 scale figures, of which the bulk of them are Marvel based.

I own 4x Black Widow figures from Hot Toys
Avengers: Infinity War - Black Widow (green outfit)
Avengers: Endgame - Black Widow (black outfit)
Black Widow - Black Widow (snow outfit)
Black Widow - Black Widow (black outfit)
The black outfit Black Widow from the movie Black Widow, looks questionable.

Production piece. Something change a little from the proto.

I actually preordered that, as I liked the sculpted hair, but in the end I decided against it, as the production sculpt wasn’t as good as I had hoped.
When I first started collecting, I used to keep every single one of my preorders, but over the past year or so, I end up cancelling maybe half of my figure preorders.
Heck I’ve got 4 figures that I still haven’t unboxed over the past few months. Including the InArt Joker rooted two pack. Well I took out the jars with the two heads, but that was it.
