Scored Doc Savage by Graphitti at Megacon

Got back today from Megacon 2008. That convention gets stranger every year. It was so anime-oriented last year that I almost didn't go this year. But "you never know" is what I always tell myself. Well, I saw and bought Doc Savage by Graphitti Designs. Haven't been so stoked about a purchase in a while. Will complement my Bowen bronze Doc Savage bust. Will get better pictures at some point, but I wanted to post something.

Anyone else get lucky at Megacon?

I picked up the unpainted version of the Crow Dance of the Dead statue for 15 dollars. Awesome statue and at that price, even more so.

Also, Bowen Super Skrull bust for 30.

This was the single reason that I was not motivated to go this year. If it wasn't for having the opportunity to chill with Mario Gully, JG Jones and Mike Perkins I wouldnt have stayed for the 3 days last year.

Apparently, from what I understand, if it were not for incorporating Anime, Sci-Fi, and Actors into the con...there wouldnt be a MegaCon. Which is a shame because the turnout for comics, comic art and statues is very significant.

Anyway, awesome pickup. Congratz.

I grabbed a Green Hulk bust for $15 from the same booth that had the unpainted Crows. That was actually the only money I spent all weekend at the con. I got in on a comp pass (I used to be an event coordinator at Megacon in previous years) and parked at the Red Roof Inn, so it was a pretty frugal weekend. I only went on Saturday and only stayed for about three hours. Here's a shot of my Hulk:

Cut it out! You nearly exposed me to the phenomenon of nasal Sprite sprayage!

Great pick up Zuelan.

This statue has been one of my favorites since I got it back in the early days of my collecting! It sits on my desk by the Bowen Doc Savage bust and my calculator!!!
