What do I do?

Heya guys,

I paid for a commission in October. The artist told me it would take about 4-6 months. I have messaged him twice this month, once about other artwork and yesterday about whether he has had the time to start or when he might be able to start my commission.

I have had no replys to either emails.

Should I be worried?

depends on who the artist is. if he has aregular gig it may take a while to respond. i know personally i have a commission out there that has taken longer then expected. and sometimes the artist takes a while to respond. i say give him a little time maybe try him again in a week or so.

considering that it's not even past the six month window, i wouldn't press this too hard at this point. always assume that artist's will take the longer of time options on commissions. at the end of six months i would send a polite inquiry, if you havent' heard anything yet. but that's just me.

I would wait till the end of the extreme: six months, then start messaging hard if he hasn't responded by then. Honestly, with most artists, especially ones with regular comics work, six months is a severe underestimation. Most artists are also spotty at best with regular communication. I've had artists reply out of the blue to an e-mail I sent as long as six months ago as if they had just received it.
