Mezco Mez Itz Cinema of Fear Series 2

Well its been a while since I have reviewed a Mezco product as Mez and crew have been design a flood of items and shipping very little. The Mez Itz have started the shipping conquest from Mezco look for several new items after SDCC to start hitting stores. Tonight I am looking over the cure little figures known as Mez Itz, in particular Sers 2 of the Cinema of Fear. Mezco has made its mark in the industry by producing these pint size, high characterized figures - <a href="http://www.azogscollection.com/index.php?subaction=showfull&id=1118986717&archive=&start_from=&ucat=18&">Link</a>

Series 2 consists of Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th - Part 2, Freddy from Wes Craven's New Nightmare, and Leatherface from the Texas Chainsaw Massacre. The packaging is fairly simply, a blisterpack with some nice graphics of the figures on front and back. Each figures comes with custom base and accessories. (Click the pics for larger images)

Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th - Part 2

Featuring the potato sack head sculpt, Jason quickly became my favorite. The mask is not removable, but the lone eye shines through. The paint application is nice, the blood work could have been less, but still I really liked this little guy. Jason comes with mini pitch fork, and the base is from the alter scene with Mrs. Vorhees's head. Mezco has come a long way from Series 1, and sculpting on Jason shows it with sculpted overalls and of course the head.

Freddy Krueger - Wes Craven's New Nightmare

<div align=center><a href="http://www.azogscollection.com/mezitzcf2/mez1.jpg" target=blank><img src="http://www.azogscollection.com/mezitzcf2/mez1mini.jpg" alt="" style="border: none;" /> </a></div>

Freddy does not come with a weapon accessory, but his hat is removable. His trademark knife hand is sculpted on, as well as the trenchcoat. The head sculpt on Freddy is superb, best of the bunch no doubt. Paint application is top notch. His base, no surprise, is a boiler room. The blood splatter on Freddy's coat is very well done.

Leatherface - Texas Chainsaw Massacre

<div align=center><a href="http://www.azogscollection.com/mezitzcf2/mez3.jpg" target=blank><img src="http://www.azogscollection.com/mezitzcf2/mez3mini.jpg" alt="" style="border: none;" /> </a></div>

Leatherface has the most accessories, base, chainsaw, and blood/head filled bucket. His base reflects the meat hooks as seen in the 2003 release. Leatherface's blood splatter is the best, splashed on shoes, pants, shirt, tie, but no over done like Jason's overalls. The headsculpt is great, however the paint and shading is not as detailed as the pics on the packaging look.

Overall

I have been looking forward to some new Mezco items, and these cute killers have quench my thirst for the time being, atleast until the Edward Scissorhands Living Dead Doll, Hellboy Comics Series Ffgures, and The Goon figures hit...I recommend picking this guys up for 14.99 at your local Spencer's, Musicland, Hot Topic, or order direct from the Mezco Direct Store.
