I hope it's better than the first one. Please, someone tell JJ that the lens flares were WAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYY over the top in ST. Do you really need them in nearly every scene?

I'm curious to see what happens with the characters but I thought the first one was pretty bad. As an action movie it was ok. As a Star Trek movie it was really poor. And yes that Red Letter Media review is perfect.

I loved the first one so can't wait for this. The Lens flairs could be toned down somewhat though...

I just hope that now they drummed it down our throats in the first film that it was a reboot, that they don't do anything really stupid like hark back to the old universe or get Shatner in it.

I wouldn't worry. They seemed very intent on staying away from what the "old" Trek universe is about.
