ratch is right and its sucks because it even works in favor of the deadbeat dads who want to come and go in their childrens lives...the judge actually told my wife she cant force him to see the kids but she has to let him see them when he wants so he can basically dissapear every 3 or 4 months and show up and demand to see them...fck the system! gerard butler had it right in law abiding citizen

In general Fathers do not have the same rights as Mothers. There is a long way to go before there is parity. But Fathers need to show more interest in their kids. There is an element out there who give good Fathers a bad name. Women seem to get a free ride with regard to bad mothers as they don't get tared with the one brush like men do.

not too hard to figure that everyone telling their story in this thread isn't a happy one. some people are meant to have children, some aren't. i'm happy to be the selfish one without kids. i guess you guys are too busy with your kids to make sense of a simple statement?

Well I'm just going by my brothers experience with the RI family court system. His ex-wife is a loon and the judges have seen this in court and my brother has spent $80,000 over 8 years to various lawyers JUST to keep his joint visitation! He has now learned (to late of course) that dealing with lawyers and the courts is a
complete waste of time!
