People are going to buy what they like, and let's face it, cheesecake sells, I just don't happen to like it. I also think that with DC's incredibly talented stable of talent, that they don't need to resort to such basic T&A tactics to sell a line like this .. they can do way better! But again, that's just my opinion.
The problem with your objection here is that the Women of the DC Universe line is (and always was) INTENDED TO BE cheesecake. It was never presented to be anything else. There's been no deception or misrepresentation. And yet, you seem to act shocked that each new piece follows that same road.

Why would anyone presume otherwise when the whole 1st series is designed by Adam Hughes, and the 2nd by Terry Dodson, both of whom are well known and popular for that particular illustration style?

Does DC Direct have talented people who can transcend such cynical marketing ploys? Absolutely.

BUT, does DC Direct need to turn a decent profit on SOMETHING they produce? Absolutely.

Why NOT take the path to easy $$$ occasionally, and capitalize on the popularity of certain artists and styles? Not everything has to be mainstream.
