The unfinished face looks godlike.
The painted one looks a little off.
So either the paint job is bad, or the photo is weird. I'm sure it's the photo. (Unless the portrait was somehow altered?)

The photo isn't weird, it's a different angle.
Some angles are more flattering than others.
I think the issue is his brow is very chunky, he has a brow line like sagat and it's much more visible/noticeable in the painted pic.
