I actually much prefer the head on this production piece because of the lack of details tbh, i didn't like how realistic the head looked on the proto images and how shaded it was....this looks more like the anime for me.
I do want to pick him up, i think the Deluxe base is needed as it really sets the piece off imo.

I purchased this statue last year and owned it for awhile. It's a cool statue for sure but ultimately I sold it because I have no connection with Fist of the North Star and didn't watch it growing up. I purchased the statue because it looked cool then tried to get into the anime and I just couldn't. The movie was okay but I got 7 episodes into the anime and felt like I was forcing myself to watch it. I did the same thing with the Guyver statue except I was actually able to finish both animes for Guyver, but ultimately I did not have a connection with Guyver either. Now I just have Prime 1s Berserk line and a few Tsume DBZ statues.

I'd suggest either watching animes before you buy $800 statues or just buy statues of things you actually like lol.

The truth is that there is little point in buying a statue without having read the manga or seen the anime.
