My most awesome day when I was a kid was watching my friend get hit by a car.

Great story! You will remember that day for the rest of your life and so will the kids. Kids have a way of saying and doing things that wrap around your heart and never let go, dont they? Amazing.

We started to walk abit and found some very small pools of water in spots along with some much larger pools. We saw some minnows and knew the pool would dry up in a couple days so we went back to the house and got a bucket and a couple small cups. We went back and for the next three hours, just her and I went from small pool to small pool, saving minnows, little salamanders, tadpoles, and crawfish and moving them to the larger pools. My youngest had a ton of fun capturing the small animals, knowing that she was saving each and every one of them. When we were done, she looked up to me and with a big smile said "this was the most awesome day ever."
No tv involved, no video game involved, no cell phone involved. Just go old fashioned playing out in nature. Great day.

Days like that are important to recognize, even more so with all the modern distractions and complications.
Too many people nose down into devices, meanwhile the world and universe pass them by with little notice at all.
"To see a World in a Grain of Sand
And a Heaven in a Wild Flower,
Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand
And Eternity in an hour."
-William Blake
