Exactly what I was hoping for my friend.

I think the best opportunity we'll have of seeing some of the early Batman Animated material get re-issued on Blu-ray will be in the months leading into The Dark Knight Rises when interest in the character is at its peak. Lets hope WB capitalizes on the opportunity.

You're probably right, but I really hope we don't have to wait that long to start seeing these appear on Blu.

If I have to wait another year and a half I'm cool with it. Having WB invest in actually doing it is what I'm most concerned with as they don't seem very interested at the moment.

I think it was really a matter of time. When WB released the JLA on Blu as a test, the adoption rate of Blu-Ray was very low. It's much more accepted and mainstream, meaning they can expect to start seeing more return on their investment than they did initially.

I'm sure that sales of the newer animated movies have been pretty good on Blu, and they probably feel it's time to test the waters on the older stuff again, although more conservatively this time around. It' one movie vs. a whole season last time.

We'll see what happens, but I'll be voting with my $$
