Sculpt: 9.5 / 10

The fantastic Kucharek Bros. really pulled out all the stops for this bust. The teeth, tongue, and the crisscrossing strands on the cheeks are truly a sight to behold. The texturing and style of all over the body of the statue give it a very fluid feel, perfect for the symbiote. In fact, I view this piece as a stand alone statue of the symbiote alone. Truly inspired work here.

Paint & Mixed Media: 8.5 / 10

The mouth and teeth look exceptional. The paint job is very clean with no sloppy lines or colour slips. There is some blue highlights added to the body to give it that comic book feel. Solid paint job all around.

Design: 9.0 / 10

I think by nature, busts are fairly limited in terms of what an artist can do with them. However, as mentioned above, I love the fluid look of this piece, as it really gives the sense that the symbiote is alive. Definitely more of a modern take on the face and mouth, not normally my preference, but this bust is so intricately done that I can make an exception!

Production & Build Quality: 9.5 / 10

The statue is largely one piece, but several of the tendrils come as separate pieces. The assembly is a breeze with the colour coded slots for the tendrils, though. The statue has a nice weighty, quality feel and the packaging is, as always, top notch. Not much to complain about here.

Overall: 9.1 / 10

A spectacular first entry into XM's 1/4 scale bust line and brings high hopes for the future of this series. If you're not into busts, the great thing about this particular piece is that you can almost consider it a stand-alone statue of the symbiote itself. The great size of this piece allows it to be displayed alongside other full size 1/4 scale pieces. This statue really turned out well, highly recommended.

Great job as always Kris. Calling this piece a bust is misleading. It's actually a half-statue. lol

XM and Kuchareks are already on it Conehead. Great review as always KB!! I now have an appreciation for just how big these busts are. If I had known they would be this big...I may have dipped into the line. All three look great so far!
