Finally made the final payment on this...now the wait. This may be my last JND, I love their quality but prices are not helping and there are other good licenses to focus on.

Since they still have to do the full rollout video and open pre-orders on the 1/6 Ledger, I'm not sure we'll see a video of the production sample for this before Christmas.

I'm also a little concerned now that that Ledger project is going to siphon a lot of their attention during what is supposed to be their final QC of this.

Rumors I saw on FaceBook chats is that a production piece video is supposed to drop either Dec 18 or Dec 19.

Yeah it looks like the video next week and shipping begins last week of the year.

I guess this time next month, most people who ordered direct should have it in hand.

I was watching the JND News video from Basquiat launch in November and just noticed something that I hope doesn't mean what I think it means.

Daniel makes an offhand comment about how when he "picks up the head and looks at it close, I swear it looks better than the prototype."

The problem here is, he shouldn't be able to pick up just the head. The head, neck, chest and shoulders should all be one seamless piece.
If he's picking up only the head, that means there is going to be a seam there. It may be mitigated because the head is tilted down, but it would still be there and likely still visible from certain angles.

I hope that was just a turn of phrase, and not the reason they were nearly extorting people to pay up well in advance of production sample photos and videos, by threatening to cancel orders.

Looking back at the photos Jeff posted, it looks like those angles were carefully chosen now to mask that area

If this turns out to be a below eye-level piece (like the Tweeterhead SP WW), I'm going to be f*&^ing livid!

Agree. I am not paying $3k for a statue with a huge noticeable seam. Need to see this production video.

I doubt that will be the case. I think it was just a poorly worded sentence.

On another note, I am curious to see if they really cancel your order if you don't pay before the production video.

They said they would cancel close to shipping, which isn't until on, or right after, Christmas. so Iko should be OK waiting until the next few days to see the video and decide.

I highly doubt the head is separate…not their style. Mera is the perfect example they are able to pull off the seamless technique.
