If it's a Superman stand alone movie and they lighten up the character where he belongs, I've nothing against him.

Had Snyder's vision actually been allowed to play out as intended I believe you'd have seen the character shaped by the events in MoS, BvS and JL leading to him to become that iconic beacon of hope. Cavill himself has eluded to as much in multiple interviews.

I heard that it's a done deal. He's back. That's great. I hate recasts. What happened with Affleck again? He pulled out or they got rid of him?

Affleck pulled out. Wasn’t happy with the direction they took Batman in JL or his experience on that production in general post Snyder. That said there are rumors he may return in some capacity beyond the reshoots for the Snyder Cut of JL. Fingers crossed here.

I'll take Cavill back, but to me Affleck was no better a Batman than he was a Daredevil.
