Superman #32
I've made no bones about my disgust with the whole New 52 thing. I've tried many of the books and dropped them all with the exception of Batman and I Vampire, which was cancelled.
But, because Geoff Johns is writing and JR JR is drawing this one, I thought I'd give it a spin. Big mistake. The story feels derivative of the current Superman Unchained and the story about Atlas before New 52. And, well, JR JR's art just can't carry him any more.
Don't know if anyone felt otherwise, but this is another New 52 book I've tried and now will drop.

I just don't understand how someone could judge a series from one issue, but to each his own I guess.

Joe:
I didn't even look at it. I love Superman but not the New 52 version. I will not buy him again until the real Clark shows up. So I'm probably done forever with him.

True statement.
In my case, been reading comics for nearly 50 years and (presumptuous as it sounds) have found I'm usually right about my first impressions. And if a story's opening doesn't interest me why continue to pick it up? Comics have to sell themselves with each issue.

You and I are of one mind, Kal. I miss reading Superman and was hopeful, as with Batman, this might be true to the core character. But, I fear, New 52 treatment has changed him too much and the story, itself, is uninteresting.

kinda of like what has been done to Captain America at Marvel. Where have all our heroes gone?

I'm so disappointed not to be reading Captain America, especially, anymore. Same with Fantastic Four and Avengers. Never thought it would be possible.

What's wrong with Cap? The last thing I read was Remender's run with the character, and I thought it was awesome.
